My dad and stepmom are living in my mom’s neighborhood (Already that makes this dream fucked up.) I am hanging out with my childhood best friend Matt. He is really happy because his mentally retarded cousin was coming over to visit. (This was a frequent event when we were growing up, but not one that was anticipated with joy as it usually meant we had to include him in everything. At the age of 9, this was nothing more than a chore to us.) Before the cousin arrived, I was called home to help move things in our attic. Apparently I am at the peak of human strength for I am easily able to move boxes that would take my parents and brothers working together. After a while, I go back to Matt’s to find that his parents have sent him to boarding school because he was too excited about his cousin’s arrival. Defeated, I go back home to lift more boxes in the attic. As I do, the attic seems to grow to almost barn-like proportions. My parents try to console me or distract me from the Matt situation because sorrow diminishes my super-strength. Without my brawn, they never could hope to move all those boxes.
