1) I live back at the apartment of my sophomore year of college. One of my med school classmates, a shy girl named Tara about whom nobody knows much, lives on the 6th floor, which is now the top floor. Tara and I have apparently begun dating, and this has become the talk of the town. “The town” also happens to be made up of an eclectic mixture of classmates ranging from my elementary school years through my medical school years. A guy with whom I attended approximately 13 years of schooling, we’ll call him J. Collins, gets in the elevator that I have just boarded along with ~25 representative classmates from throughout the years. I got on first, intending to go visit my girl Tara on floor 6. By the time I realized I forgot to hit the button for floor 6, the elevator was too full to reach it. J. Collins steps in last, looks around to make sure everyone sees him, and triumphantly hits the button for 6 as the door closes. He was always kind of a tool in that respect; everyone knew him as a showboat and egomaniac, causing him to be a joke to most by the end high school. Anyways, a girl from his old clique was standing next to me in the elevator and she leans over and whispers “He’s really proud because he is trying to date that new girl, Tara… who I hear thinks you are really cute, by the way.” I smile knowingly. “Whatever.” I put my headphones on and watch silently as J. Collins exits the elevator at floor 6. He turns the wrong way to get to
2) Still in my college town. It is unclear if this is the same dream or a new one. Liz and Voss live on Mifflin, which has been moved about a half mile west of its current location. I stop over there to pick Liz up, because apparently we have a date to go to the “gay park”. The “gay park” is just a park where gay people meet and do normal people things like walk dogs, rollerblade, take naps in the sun, and get chest x-rays. I don’t think it’s odd that there is a rest-hut full of DIY x-ray machines, but as we arrive the curator of the park runs up to me in a panic. “WE NEED YOUR H
(SCENE MISSING)
I bike back to Liz’s after our date to find Voss attending to her in their house, which has grown since my last visit by about 250%. Liz is in some sort of stupor, halfway between drunk and high. Voss says not to worry, she’s just had “too much.” Of what? I cannot tell. No matter, I go find Goldberg, Liz’s boyfriend, and we set out on bikes. We are trying to get noticed by a rap producer so he will take us under his label for our new album. Our best idea to be noticed is to perform our raps loudly as we bike down the streets.
A night of vivid details. That's all I got.
