I’m throwing a HUGE party at my not-yet-finished house in the woods. The house is structurally done, but has no drywall/carpet/etc. I made the best of it, however, by making the party appropriately themed and advising people that there’s nothing to break, stain, or ruin. All of my friends, and I mean all of them from any time, are there. Things are going remarkably well; people are having fun in every bare room of my skeletal home and wherever I go I am stopped by somebody with phrases like “This is the most fun I’ve had in a single night!”, etc. Well, I find Kris hanging out in a small room with one or two other people. She doesn’t seem to want to come into any of the great rooms where I have stuff like beer pong, Wii, kegs, kiddie pools, and the like. I finally convince her to tell me why: she’s worried that Andrew, my best friend for the last decade or so, will judge her harshly because she looks too pretty to be intelligent. (There is truth to this: Andrew tends to be critical of my girlfriends, and Kris has the body of a Victoria Secret model despite the fact that she is an M.D./Ph.D. student at UCLA. She has a hard time getting her colleagues and professors to evaluate her mind rather than her looks. This often leads to her wearing the most unflattering, bulky business attire when she needs to give a scientific talk or anything like that.) I finally goad her into meeting Andrew by promising her I won’t dump her based on his opinion. He meets her and judges her harshly. Kris is devastated, but walks away with dignity before finding a secluded room and starts to cry. I confront Andrew about this, and he admits that he gets jealous because when I am dating someone, he gets to see me less. I don’t really remember much after that.

Of note here is that this is Kris’ first appearance in a recorded dream. I am amazed she hasn’t come up sooner considering our relationship (and, frankly, how attractive I find her). She isn’t on the same level as Kiani by any means, but I still figured she’d have made a showing sooner.
